Marina Nenadović

Marina Nenadovic was born in New York City but was raised in Belgrade where she started her flute studies with prof. Marija Grasselli at the “Mokranjac” Music School.  She graduated and received her Masters Degree at the Mannes  College of Music in New York studying with prof. Thomas Nyfenger.  She also attended Masterclasses with important flutists: Andras Adorjan, William Benett, Sam Baron and others.  Since 1989. she has performed as a principle flutist, first with the Opera and Ballet Orchestra of the National Theater in Belgrade and since 1993.as a solo flutist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.  With this Orchestra she took part in all important music festivals in Serba and abroad, traveling to the US, China, Germany, Italy, Austria and others.  She had an opportunity to collaborate with amazing musicians and conductors such as: Maestro Zubin Mehta, Christian Mandeal, Maxim Vengerov, Mihael Jurowski, Miklos Pereny.   As a soloist, she performed with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Nis Symphony Orchestra,  St. Georg String Orchestra, Sinfonieta, “Ljubica Maric’” Orchestra and she performed many important concertos from the flute repertoire.  She is a founder and a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet that had many performances in Serbia and abroad.   This Quintet recorded a CD of woodwind works of prof. Dejan Despic, eminent Serbian composer.  She is also a member of Trio Tember (flute, viola and harp) as well as “Gradiliste” ensemble ( performing new music).  For more than 20 years, Marina has been successfully teaching and is very proud of many students who study and perform in Germany, France, Italy, Austira, USA as well as the students who continued who teach flute in Serbia and abroad.  Her students won more than 60 first prizes in International Competitions.   She is a flute teacher at the “Josif Marinkovic” music High School in Belgrade.   With her colegues from the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, she teaches every summer at the Tivat Summer Woodwind workshop where they share their love and knowledge of both woodwind instruments and chamber music.
